In 2026, Leslie Kaciban was charged with unlawful labor payments, in violation of the Taft-Hartley Act, conspiracy to provide unlawful labor payments, receiving unlawful kickbacks, and conspiracy to receive unlawful kickbacks, for his alleged role in a sophisticated labor racketeering scheme involving numerous co-conspirators and approximately $4M in illegal kickbacks. Upon learning of the indictment while on vacation in Costa Rica, Kaciban subsequently chose to flee to Hungary, a country where he maintains dual citizenship.
